Member Terms
Version
These Member Terms apply to your DiploLife membership and use of the members’ app. You accept them by an explicit choice during registration or in your account. They complement the website Terms of Use.
1. Eligibility
Membership is for adults (18+) who belong to the eligible diplomatic and international community and is subject to invitation, eligibility review and verification. DiploLife may decline or end an application where eligibility cannot be confirmed. Approval does not certify your identity, rank or status to others.
2. Your account
Keep your sign-in details and app PIN confidential and use the account only yourself. Tell us promptly at admin@diplomatlife.com if you suspect misuse. Information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date.
3. Acceptable use
Treat members with courtesy and discretion. Do not share classified, confidential or official information you are not authorised to share; do not harass, discriminate, impersonate, spam, solicit commercially without permission, upload malware, attempt unauthorised access, or collect other members’ data. Comply with the rules of your own service and host country.
4. Communications
We send service messages about your account, security and membership. Member-to-member communication must respect these terms and the privacy of others. Features are offered in the form in which they are available in the app at the time.
5. Your content
You remain responsible for content you post and retain your rights in it. You grant DiploLife a non-exclusive licence to host and display it to the audiences you choose, solely to operate the service. Do not post content you have no right to share. We may remove content that breaches these terms or the law.
6. Events
Events may be organised by members or third parties. Attendance is at your own discretion and subject to the organiser’s conditions. DiploLife is not the organiser of member events unless stated, and access to private events depends on authorisation.
7. Service providers and AI assistance
Recommendations or listings of third-party providers are for information; contracts you make with providers are solely between you and them. Sponsored content is labelled. Any AI-assisted output may be incomplete or wrong and is not professional advice; verify important information yourself.
8. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time from My Account. DiploLife may restrict or close accounts for serious or repeated breaches, loss of eligibility, security risk or legal requirement, acting proportionately and, where appropriate, informing you of the reason. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
9. Liability
DiploLife is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory law so provides. For slight negligence, liability is limited to breach of essential obligations and to typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
10. Privacy
Processing of personal data, including verification information, is described in the privacy information, which is separate from these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
If we materially change these Member Terms, we will tell you in advance and ask for your acceptance of the new version. Your acceptance of each version is recorded with its date.
12. Law and disputes
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; consumers keep the mandatory protections of their country of habitual residence. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve concerns. DiploLife is not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Nothing in these terms waives mandatory consumer rights or your right to go to court.
